Secure, invisible product markings are the solution
Proprietary dye-based markings can't be copied
Uniquely-customized marking inks, dyes, or thin films are provided for each PhotoSecure customer. Each formulation precisely combines photoluminescent components to produce a distinctive spectral signature. A virtually unlimited number of these combinations is available.
It would be extremely difficult -- requiring a multimillion dollar effort -- for any counterfeiter to reverse-engineer these markings and then develop fake marks that would fool a PhotoSecure scanner.
The markings can be invisible to the naked eye (and even to improperly-calibrated scanners), making them difficult to detect and remove. The PhotoSecure inks can even be mixed with or applied over the product name or logo, so that attempting to remove them would deface the product item's appearance. This helps discourage diversion into unauthorized sales channels.
The marks can carry encoded data
Most printable encoding systems, such as UPC barcodes, can be applied using PhotoSecure inks and dyes. The photoluminescent materials can be mixed with or overlaid on the multi-color printing of labels or packages. They can also be applied by computer-driven ink-jet printers at your factory to put unique information on each batch... even on individual items.
